In short: there is no account or personal profile, and addresses are used to calculate journeys but are not stored.

Data we process
BestBarrio asks for no registration, name, email or phone number. Search data is handled as follows:
- Addresses or places. They are sent to locate them and calculate journeys. They are not stored against you or a session.
- Search configuration. Budget, housing type, transport, time, preferences, frequency and arrival time may be stored anonymously to improve recommendations.
- Approximate position. Before storage, each point is rounded to a broad grid cell; exact coordinates and names are never retained.
- Area feedback. Whether you knew or would consider an area, linked to an anonymous search rather than a person.
The exact address text or coordinate and the label you gave it. Those exist only in your browser and during the calculation.
Purpose and legal basis
We process data to provide the requested areas and understand in aggregate whether the product works, based on performing your request and our legitimate interest in improving the service. There is no advertising, personal profiling or automated decision with legal effects.
What remains in your browser
BestBarrio uses no advertising or third-party tracking cookies. It stores area feedback and a coordinate-free screen log locally for diagnostics.
Two necessary first-party cookies are used: bb_pass protects the API from abuse for two hours; bestbarrio-locale remembers your language for one year. Neither identifies or profiles you, neither is sent to third parties, and both disappear when site data is cleared.
Service providers
The service relies on hosting, database, mapping and routing providers that process only what is needed. Transfers outside the EEA use applicable legal safeguards, including standard contractual clauses where relevant.
Hosting may measure aggregate visits—page, referrer, country and device—without cookies, personal profiles or cross-site tracking, so we can understand which content is useful.
Retention
Anonymous searches and feedback remain only while useful for product evaluation. Because they are not tied to an identifiable person, they cannot be linked back to you after the search.
Your rights
You may request access, correction, deletion, objection, restriction or portability by writing to ilaygalron1@gmail.com. Because no personal identifier is retained, there will normally be no record that can be linked to you.
If you believe processing breaches the law, you may complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD). aepd.es.
