Where to live if you work at Madrid-Barajas Airport or IFEMA
Terminal 4, Terminals 1, 2 and 3, the IFEMA trade-fair grounds and the Campo de las Naciones offices form east Madrid's big employment hub. These are the areas you can reach it from by public transport — and those where you will need a car.

Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport is one of the largest workplaces in the region, and next to it are IFEMA, Madrid's trade-fair grounds, and the Campo de las Naciones business park. Everything is linked by Metro line 8, which starts at Nuevos Ministerios, and Terminal 4 also has CercanĂas commuter trains.
Line 8 is what decides. Areas close to it, or that reach Mar de Cristal or Nuevos Ministerios without a detour, get there quickly; areas right next door on the map but without that link — San Blas, Ciudad Lineal — take longer than you would expect by Metro, and in practice many people go by bus or car.

The times on this page are for arriving by 9:00 on a weekday. If your shift starts at six in the morning or ends in the small hours, the Metro may be closed: road distance and night buses — which we do not calculate here — matter much more.
The airport and IFEMA favour different areas
ChamartĂn and Arturo Soria reach both well. From the north — Las Tablas, Alcobendas — Terminal 4 is easy by CercanĂas, but IFEMA needs more changes. Check your destination's column before falling for a neighborhood.
