Where to live if you work at the Cuatro Torres
The towers at the top of the Castellana house the offices of major companies, a university and a large hospital next door. These are the areas from which getting there by 9:00 is easy — and what living in each one means.

The Cuatro Torres — five towers today, counting Caleido — were built from 2004 on the site of Real Madrid's former training ground, at the northern end of the Castellana. They are the tallest buildings in Spain and hold the offices of large companies, a hotel and the IE University tower, with La Paz Hospital a few minutes' walk away.
When choosing where to live, what matters is Metro line 10, which stops at Begoña, and its connection with line 1 at Plaza de Castilla. Anywhere close to those two lines gets there quickly; places that force you to cross the city from east to west do not, even if they look closer on a map.

Line 10 rules
If you only look at one map, look at line 10. Areas on it or one change away — Tetuán, ChamartĂn, the centre, Las Tablas, Alcobendas — rise to the top of the table; areas that force you through Nuevos Ministerios or Avenida de AmĂ©rica drop, even when they are fewer kilometres away.
With a family, look north too
Las Tablas, Alcobendas and Tres Cantos offer large flats at prices the centre does not, and get there in about half an hour or less. If an international school is part of the equation, cross-check this page with the Lycée Français or King's College pages.
