It is a large town and very different from one area to the next: the old centre, Avenida de Europa, Somosaguas and the villa developments are worlds apart, and almost everywhere a car is essential.
Central Madrid is more than half an hour away by train and Metro and about twenty kilometres by road. Commuting daily to the northern Castellana or the east of the city is a long trip.
